So, there’s been some video game news this week. There was a Mini Nintendo Direct that revealed a few interesting games for next. Microsoft also held an event to finally show some games for the new Xbox. It was a mostly underwhelming showcase with a few standout games. Ubisoft had an event as well but there wasn’t much new there and it would be more worth your time to read about how Ubisoft treats employees than talk about their games. The makers of Suikoden 2 also announced a Kickstarter for their new game, Eiyuden Chronicle, but there isn’t much else to say about that quite yet. Anyway, let’s get to the games!
Balan Wonderland
This people at the head of this game have worked on a number of games together, including both Sonic Adventure games and NiGHTS Into Dreams. Obviously, they know how to make a 3D platformer. That in of itself has me pumped but the trailer gives a better idea of what its going to be like and it screams Billy Hatcher. Without the giant eggs, of course. It’ll be on almost everything, so I’ll definitely give it a shot.
Everwild
I can’t tell you anything about
this game. The trailer is a mood trailer and I love that mood and the themes it
promises. We’ll see how it follows through. It should also be noted that the
art style is fantastic. Because I’ve always loved this kind of aesthetic, this
game was always going to appeal to me. Once we learn more, I’ll let you know.
