Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Little Women Have Exactly Opposite Endings

I chose this image solely to draw y'all in

Spoiler warning for both Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker and Little Women.

The climax of Rise of Skywalker features its protagonist Rey Skywalker, nee Palpatine, kissing deuteragonist Ben Solo, nee Kylo Ren, for what can only be presumed to be both’s first kiss. This comes at the end of a trilogy where the two alternated between wanting to murder each other and wanting to turn the other the side of light or dark, respectively. Not because the two had shown any romantic leanings towards each other but because they both believed they were on the correct path but were alone and in pain.

Introducing Ok, Hear Me Out

Do you like podcasts? Would you like listening to a couple friends debate (Or argue, depends who you ask) various topics? Well, you’re in luck because my friend Reid and I have just the show for you! Ok, Hear Me Out is exactly what you’re looking for. Our first episode (Up above) focuses on where Baby Yoda comes from and who it is.

We’re still working on the exact schedule and topics to be discussed, but its looking to be a diverse as Baby Yoda and various conspiracy theories. As of right now, monthly seems to be the rate at which we plan to release episodes. Also, we’re only available through our RSS feed currently, but we should be on Spotify and Apple Podcasts soon. I’ll update this post when that happens so keep an eye out!

Anyway, check out our Baby Yoda episode and let us know what you think!

Update 12.29.2019: We are now up on Itunes.

Update 01.03.2020: We are now up on Spotify.

Crisis on Infinite Earths Heads Into the Break With a Gut-Punch

A hero is a hero not because they’re willing to put on a suit and punch criminals. A hero is a hero because they're willing to protect those that can't protect themselves even if it may cost the hero. That concept and ideal was embodied by most of our heroes in this episode in powerful ways.

Part Two of Crisis on Infinite Earths Is About The Power of Hope

In the absence of Oliver Queen, the new lead of the Arrowverse is Kara Danvers. Kara is the central piece of this multiverse team as soon as Arrow ends. She’s Barry Allen’s friend. Same for Kate Kane. There’s going to be a Superman show? Her cousin is the star. That’s not the only sign though. Who could possibly inspire Superman of all people to keep hope alive when everything appears lost? Kara Zor-El. Who has taken a leadership role since her arrival? Supergirl. Who, in this very episode, is declared the Paragon of Hope? Kara Danvers.

Crisis on Infinite Earths Begins With a Bang... And a Surprising Death

What do the most extraordinary people do during the most extraordinary crisis of their lives? They fight. They fight to save lives, to save universes.  If need be, any of them would give their lives. But only one did. Thus far, anyway. And they will be missed. Although I have a feeling we.may be seeing more of them during this event. Or an alternate universe version of them, at least.

Blog Update 12.08.2019

Hey y’all! I’m back! I want to apologize for disappearing, but I’ve been having a hard time with technology the past few weeks. My laptop hard drive has been absolutely destroyed. Took way too long to fix that. Everything else has been on the fritz as well, even my Fitbit! But I’m back now and ready to rock!

First things first, there will be no Last Week’s Comics Reviewed this week as I haven’t had time to read them between finals. The reviews will return next week.

This week will have a lot going on though. Crisis on Infinite Earths begins this week and I’ll be bringing you next day posts about each episode. That’ll be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I also plan to look at Promare either this week or next. That will probably be next week as I want to write about Supernatural this week. That’ll be a special piece that will take the place of a couple episode reviews.

For the rest of this month, I will, of course, be taking a look at Star Wars. Then the holidays hit and I guarantee a Christmas or Christmas Eve comic review. Ditto for New Year’s. When there is a break in the schedule, I’ll do a piece about some upcoming video games and films. Supernatural and the Arrowverse will be on hiatus in the second half of the month. I might do a midseason check-in for the Arrowverse. Having said that, the Crisis episodes might save that function depending on how deep they delve into the ongoing plots of the individual shows.

After New Year’s, we’ll be coming up on the one year anniversary of the blog! I’m not quite sure how I’ll celebrate that, although I have a couple ideas. I’m going to save my Best of 2019 awards for next year because that’s how it should be. The format of that is still in flux, however.

That’s all for this update! It’s been crazy and I’ve missed y’all. But I’m back now and we’re going to have a ton of fun in the next month. Catch you back here for Crisis tomorrow.
